One small step
There is not a single person I know who is happy with our government. Reasons vary wildly but the consensus is that a fix is needed. Actually a lot of fixes.
The web is glutted with rants and complaning, along with some pertty unrealistic solutions for this or that problem. However, ideas on how to go about really starting to get things back on a better keel are hard to find.
It is a hard problem. I have an idea.
Below I am reprinting something I posted at another blog ( I have too many blogs ). It is the introduction to the change of government idea and I hope to expand on it in this blog.
"
It is a simple idea. The majority of citizens of America are unhappy with the current administration. Waging war in Iraq may have seemed a good idea at one time but now is is clear to have been a mistake. Many americans are not pleased with how our political system is working. The lobbyist scandel currently in the news is only the tip of the iceburg. Purchased favor is busness as usual in washington. We need a change. A change of government. And thanks to the writers of our constitution we can accompilisch this without bombs or guns or riots because we have (still) the Vote! The VOTE! They may try but it will be hard to take that right away. Here is how we do it. Rule 1: No encumbents win. They have failed. It will take a few years but WE can replace our representives with REPERSENTIVES. The idea is simple but really doing it is going to take a lot of work."
Yep! We are the government. Or that's what they told us in school. And yes I know it dosen't work exactly that way but we still have a lot of clout when we get togeather and use it.
